Two friends, one week, six restaurants and the journey of a lifetime
Join comedians, Steve Coogan (I'M ALAN PARTRIDGE, TROPIC THUNDER) and Rob Brydon (GAVIN & STACEY) for THE TRIP - a laugh-out-loud journey through the breathtaking scenery and culinary delights of England's North, from prolific filmmaker, Michael Winterbottom (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE, TRISTRAM SHANDY: A COCK AND BULL STORY).
When Coogan is commissioned by The Observer to write an article on a series of regional restaurants, he naturally wants to take his food-loving girlfriend with him. But when she decides to leave him and return to the US, Steve is faced with a week of meals for one. Reluctantly calls the only person left he can think of who will be available on short notice, his friend and colleague, Brydon.
Over the course of six lavish meals at six different restaurants in and around the Lake District, Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales, this brilliant comic duo freestyle with flair, driving each other mad with a constant battle of one-upmanship, all the while riffing hilarious impressions of iconic actors including Michael Caine, Sean Connery and Al Pacino.
